Spanish I – This course offers a thorough orientation and introduction to the fundamental differences between English and Spanish pronunciation, grammatical usage and culture. Emphasis is placed on oral communication developed through active student participation during each class session with the help of visual aids, recordings, and teacher evaluation. The course attempts to build a better understanding of the customs, language, and people of the Hispanic culture. Grammatically, it gives the student a thorough understanding of the present tense forms of the Spanish language and introduces the regular form of the preterite (past) tense.

Grammatically, it gives the student a thorough review of the vocabulary and morphological structures of Spanish I, develops further the two past tense forms, introduces the conditional and future tenses, and provides a complete understanding of the subjunctive mood.

A.P. Spanish – This is an advanced course on the Spanish language and culture. Emphasis is placed on oral communication developed through active student participation during each class session with the help of visual aids, recordings, and teacher evaluation.
